Hi my name is Kalub Jarosh and I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of California. I operate an alternative health clinic in Nevada City, California, a town with great interest in learning about non-mainstream medical care. I feel very fortunate in being able to help further educate and treat a population that is already somewhat savvy and open to non-mainstream medical care.
Growing up, I was introduced to a combination of alternative and western medicine but I think like the majority of people in the United States, Europe and other like minded countries,I was more familiar with western medicine. When I was in my mid-twenties I began having health problems; over time, I saw several doctors in effort to discover the cause of my deteriorating health. After 1.5 years of consulting different doctors and trying many prescribed medications, surgery was suggested as a possible solution. I knew there had to be another way. I felt relatively healthy and I didn’t know what was causing my difficulties, but something in me knew surgery and more medication wasn’t the answer.
After doing research for an alternative, I became fascinated with Chinese medicine and acupuncture. I started to see an acupuncturist and after just a few months my debilitating GI tract and anxiety symptoms that had been plaguing me for almost two years improved by 80%. I continued to work the acupuncturist and my symptoms completely resolved.
There is no doubt that Western medicine is exceptional as an emergency and trauma medicine but is lacking when it comes to creating overall longevity and health. Chinese medicines approach of activating the body’s natural ability to heal itself made more sense tome than the western medicines approach of using invasive surgery and chemicals to heal the body.
I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Oregon and knew that I wanted to go on and study Chinese medicine because I saw what it did for me. I graduated from Acupuncture Integrative Medicine College with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine in the end of 2010 and than I passed the licensing exam.
